Weight Loss

Welcome to Mark Spearman's Weight Loss Home On The Web. I am in no way a medical expert and you should consult your doctor before starting to lose any weight. I am a 37 year old male with a weight loss problem. As of Sept 5, 2005, I've lost 46 pounds and I'm about half way to the goal of 100 pounds. This page is to share my experience with weight loss with others. I've been told that my weight loss has inspired others, so as embarassing as that is, I will post what I've learned here for others.

There are alot of blogs, calorie counters, diets, gizmo's, gadget's, etc. on the net and elsewhere, but the most important piece of equipment that you need is your brain. If you are overweight, your mental state is in need of help too. Your mental state is a part of the problem in the first place. The first task is to get your confidence up and prepare yourself for what you are up against. If you've ever been on a diet, you know what I'm talking about: defeat when you don't lose, pressure from peers - to fail or succeed, shame at the gym, the list can go on and on. Get ready to forget about these troubles and focus on the task at hand, improving your fitness level.

If you work in an office, or any other job that is not labor intensive, you need to surrender to the idea that you have to go to the gym. These jobs are killers of the body and spirit, and the gym is your savior to a happy life in these professions.
