In searching for a photo of something interesting, I found another gas station at night. Doing this project, I’ve noticed some repetitive things, and gas stations seem to be one of them for me.
At night, the machinery that is largely ignored is more prominent. I never noticed the infrared lights on the ground, never read the advertising, never noticed the legal certifications, or even the warning signs. In the hurry of just getting your gas and getting on my way, I just never notice.
Not exactly the photo I’ve been chasing of a truck on the highway in the rain at night, but closer than my last attempt.
Long day. I went for simplicity with today’s photo.
Tonight’s plan was to get some shots in the late evening hour. It’s known as the “blue hour” by photographers because night shots will still have a dark blue hue to the sky. The clouds moved in and I only got half blue and half grey.
Another winter night searching for something in my quiet town to take a photo of. I came across one of the few buildings in Heath, Ohio that isn’t a strip mall or retail version of a pole barn. This bank always reminded me of a UFO when I was young.
