Hardin And Harrison Counties Added To Project

Hardin County And Harrison County Added To The Ohio County Photo Project

I was happy to have the time to go photograph Hardin and Harrison counties. I am processing the photos I shot now to add to the Ohio County Photo Project.

Hardin County, Ohio

To me, Hardin County, Ohio is agriculture and antiques. Everywhere I looked this 2 things stood out. The corn and soybeans went on forever. Small towns were full of thriving antique shops.

Harrison County, Ohio

Harrison County’s most prominent industries are agriculture, oil and gas(fracking trucks are everywhere), and recreation. The roads are a dream come true for motorcycling.

I will be processing the rest of the photos and videos from my short adventures soon.

Day 104 365 Project

GetGo gas station at night.
Everyone is gone at the GetGo.

In searching for a photo of something interesting, I found another gas station at night. Doing this project, I’ve noticed some repetitive things, and gas stations seem to be one of them for me.

At night, the machinery that is largely ignored is more prominent. I never noticed the infrared lights on the ground, never read the advertising, never noticed the legal certifications, or even the warning signs. In  the hurry of just getting your gas and getting on my way, I just never notice.

Day 22 365 Photo Project

Gas Station At Night
Duke Gas Station At Night

So what’s happening with this 365 project is that I work all day then end up spending the evening either contemplating going out to shoot or wondering around looking for something to shoot. It’s winter, so I haven’t been doing much walking, just driving around looking at what is out there in the somewhat dead town of Newark, Ohio.

I keep ending up looking at the lit up gas stations when I’m completely out of ideas. They’ve got the essential ingredient for night photos, light.
