How to Blog Day 10 – Set Up Alerts for Your Niche
In continuation of my review for 31 Days To Build A Better Blog, day 10’s
instructions are to set up alerts about your niche. Stunning. For those that don’t know how to do this visit these sites -
- Google News
- Google Reader
- Google Blogs
- Twitter Search – put the rss feed in Google Reader
- Any other website that allows searches to be converted to RSS Feeds
Place your keywords in the searches and monitor the RSS Feeds. It’s that simple.
Very brief tip, but not worthy of an entire chapter in the book. This book has some good information, but it’s not turning out to be a step-by-step daily guide of what to do on a daily basis. Confusing as this sounds, this is probably a good thing. I’d hate to see every blog get the same thing done to it in the same order.
If you are not using Google Reader or another feed reader of your choice, you should. You can scan so quickly and get to the information that you need in short order. I can’t think of any type of blog that will not benefit from this type of information.
